Your "Natural" Hair Product Is Probably LYING to You πŸ‘€

Summary

The word 'natural' on a label means almost nothing. This truth bomb exposes how brands use tiny amounts of natural ingredients alongside synthetic silicones, mineral oils, and alcohol-based fragrances β€” and how to spot it.

What's In The Video

Amadou exposes how the beauty industry exploits the unregulated term 'natural' to market products loaded with synthetic ingredients. He breaks down the three biggest offenders hiding in your 'natural' hair products.

You'll learn:

  • Why the term 'natural' is unregulated β€” companies can use a tiny percentage and still claim it
  • How synthetic silicones cause product buildup that leaves hair dull and greasy
  • Why mineral oils (petroleum-based) create a barrier that blocks moisture from entering the hair shaft
  • How synthetic fragrances (alcohol-based) can irritate your scalp
  • The one habit that protects you: always read the ingredients list, ignore the marketing claims
  • Where to learn more: the ingredients chapter in the Lazy-Proof Curly Hair Guide

Ever picked up a natural hair oil and found a long list of ingredients you can't even pronounce? Ladies and gentlemen, it's time for another truth bomb. Now, you see, the term natural is often unregulated in the beauty industry. You see, many products marketed this way are usually made with synthetic silicones, fragrances, and mineral oils that end up building up on the hair and leaving it feeling dull and actually greasy. Companies can use a tiny percentage of natural ingredients and still label the product natural. Mineral oils, for example, are generally petroleum-based, and they actually end up creating a barrier that prevents moisture from penetrating into your hair shaft. And synthetic fragrances, well, almost all synthetic fragrances are rubbing alcohol-based. So if you've ever felt a bit of irritation on the scalp, synthetic fragrances can be a contributing factor. Moral of the story, always check the ingredients list and what's in there, and ignore those marketing claims. Look for products with clear and simple ingredients lists. And if you still feel lost, check out the Lazy Proof Co guide that I wrote. There's an entire chapter dedicated to how to read ingredients lists. Now, what natural products have surprised you? Don't be shy. Share it in the comments below.
